Greetings, my name is Dayna, and I am the owner of Taking the Lead Dog Training and an accomplished dog trainer with more than 15 years of experience. My journey into the world of dog training began when I volunteered at my local shelters and rescue groups. Over the years, I have fostered numerous cats and dogs, which has helped me gain valuable insights into their behavior. I have also worked as the Director of Operations at an animal shelter, where my responsibilities included managing adoptions, intake, and Behavior & Training Services. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, my expertise lies in implementing training methods that prioritize relationships through reinforcement-based techniques. I strive to ensure that my training approach is humane, and I utilize the Least Intrusive and Minimally Aversive (LIMA) hierarchy to achieve the desired results. To enhance my skills, I have completed several courses, including the Aggression in Dogs Master Course, the Enrichment Framework Master Class, the Really Real Relaxation PRO course, as well as being a Certified Whistle Recall Instructor. I have worked with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, including those with disabilities such as deafness, blindness, and mobility limitations.
